Synopsis
"England Is Mine" (2017) is a biographical drama you can watch online on iFILM. Director Mark Gill follows Steven Morrissey through the sullen years in 1970s Manchester — long before the city had heard of The Smiths — when he was filing music columns nobody published and picking fights with the world for having the wrong taste. Steven latches onto guitarist Linder Sterling, gets pushed toward a stage appearance, fails, and retreats to his mother's house. Illness. Silence. Then a letter from a guitarist named Johnny Marr arrives.
The film is deliberately undramatic — no breakthrough moment, no redemptive arc, just the slow, awkward becoming.
