Synopsis
Breath (2017) is an Australian coming-of-age drama you can watch online on iFILM. On a windswept stretch of the Western Australian coast in the 1970s, two restless teenagers, Pikelet and Loonie, shape their own foam surfboards and spend whole afternoons watching strangers carve up the swell.
Then they meet Sando, a former pro surfer who takes the boys on as apprentices. He teaches them more than how to stand on a board — he pushes them to chase fear on purpose, to paddle out farther, dive deeper, and find the exact line where courage turns into recklessness. Simon Baker plays the magnetic mentor and directs, marking his feature debut behind the camera. Elizabeth Debicki and Richard Roxburgh round out the cast.
Adapted from Tim Winton's novel, the film keeps the book's hushed, unsentimental voice — a quiet study of how a boy's hunger for risk stops being a game. The ocean is shot cold and vast, never a postcard. One for viewers who like slow, honest stories about first experience and growing up. Stream Breath (2017) online on iFILM.
