Dad

Dad (1989) is a family drama from Gary David Goldberg, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Wall Street go-getter John gets the call no one is ready for: his 75-year-old father Jake is dying. So he goes home.

Jack Lemmon plays the father; Ted Danson plays the son. Years of distance hang between them, the kind that started with one bad fight and never healed. John takes over the caregiving — meals, doctors, long nights by the bed — and slowly the two men relearn how to talk. Watching his own father fade, John also sees how far he has drifted from his teenage boy, played by a young Ethan Hawke.
