Synopsis

The Krays (1990) is a British crime drama by Peter Medak that you can watch online on iFILM. Real-life brothers Gary and Martin Kemp, of the band Spandau Ballet, play the notorious twins Ronnie and Reggie — and that bloodline gives the pairing an uneasy authenticity no casting trick could fake.

East London in the sixties belongs to two boys from a poor street who carve out a kingdom of clubs, protection money and fear. Reggie still wants to pass as a respectable businessman. Ronnie has stopped pretending, and his appetite for violence keeps dragging his brother along. Towering over both is their mother Violet, played by Billie Whitelaw, who adores her sons while quietly shaping them into monsters.

Medak skips the usual gangster spectacle and shoots a family portrait where tenderness and brutality share the same kitchen table. The film leans on a cold, near-documentary tone and on the strange charge of two real musicians turning into two real killers. It will click with anyone who likes British crime cinema stripped of glamour. Stream The Krays (1990) online on iFILM.
