Synopsis
The Reflecting Skin (1990) is a British-Canadian psychological horror drama you can watch online on iFILM. Philip Ridley's debut feature is set in the sun-scorched Idaho wheatfields of the 1950s — a world that looks pastoral and feels diseased.
Eight-year-old Seth has decided the pale widow down the road is a vampire. His playmates are dying. His older brother Cameron, played by Viggo Mortensen, comes home from the war quieter than he left and quietly falling apart. Lindsay Duncan plays the widow — a woman half consumed by grief and half by the boy's projection of evil onto her. Seth's logic is a child's logic: vivid, absolute, and wrong in the worst possible way.
