Synopsis
Watch online on iFILM: The Zodiac (2005), a crime thriller about a cop whose family slowly buckles under the hunt for a killer no one can catch. Northern California, turning into the 1970s. The small town of Vallejo lives in dread as someone murders young people and mails taunting ciphers to the local papers.
Sergeant Matt Parish, played by Justin Chambers, takes the case and brings it home with him every night. His wife Laura (Robin Tunney) watches him disappear into the investigation, while their teenage son Johnny (Rory Culkin) quietly tracks every fresh headline. Director Alexander Bulkley is less interested in chasing the maniac than in what fear does to ordinary neighbors. The real Zodiac case was never solved, and the film keeps that emptiness at its center.
Don't confuse this with David Fincher's same-titled picture: this one is smaller, quieter, no marquee stars, leaning hard into a provincial town's terror of a man it cannot identify.
