TV-Y7Synopsis
Recess (1997), Season 5 — the final 11 episodes of Disney's playground cartoon, watch online on iFILM. One last lap for the Third Street six, and the show sends its familiar schoolyard off the way it always lived: through small adventures, one recess at a time.
The setups feel more intimate than past seasons. On a brutally hot day the gang mounts a whole expedition across the playground just to reach the water pump. T.J. finds a hundred-dollar bill and the group sets out to track down whoever lost it. Vince and T.J. both fight for the A.V. Kid job and push their friendship to the breaking point. Gus and an army girl can't get along thanks to a feud between their fathers, and a fed-up Lawson assembles his own rival crew to take on T.J.'s team. Fewer stories this time, but most of them circle back to how that friendship holds.
Writers Paul Germain and Joe Ansolabehere bring the show home without a loud goodbye — the same kid logic against the grown-up world. The shortest season, and a fitting close for anyone who watched it all. Stream Recess Season 5 online on iFILM.
