Two parallel stories run at once. Two brothers and the detective chasing them get stuck on a staircase that loops forever — up leads nowhere, down leads nowhere, the same landings keep repeating. Across town, a family driving to the beach passes the same road sign again and again. Neither group can reason their way out. By the time the film catches up with them, 35 years have passed inside the loop.

Ezban relies on internal logic and commitment rather than effects budget to make the concept land, and it does. The two-track structure keeps you off-balance throughout, and the slow realization of what these people's lives have actually become is more disturbing than any jump scare.
