Synopsis

It follows Hilde Coppi, a young Berliner who through the summer of 1942 belonged to the Rote Kapelle, an underground anti-fascist network operating under occupation. Hilde and Hans Coppi — Johannes Hegemann — find each other inside the resistance before the Gestapo moves in. She is arrested at eight months pregnant. What follows is interrogation rooms, prison walls, and a stream of letters to Hans that are tender and clear-eyed about what's coming.
