Men in War

Men in War (1957) is an American war drama directed by Anthony Mann that you can watch online on iFILM. Korea, September 1950. Lieutenant Benson's platoon is cut off behind enemy lines, radio dead, truck out of commission. Their only option: march to Hill 465 on foot and hope the division held.

Somewhere along the way, they pick up Sergeant Montana — a hard, self-sufficient loner whose only concern is getting his catatonic colonel to safety. Benson (Robert Ryan) and Montana (Aldo Ray) fundamentally disagree on almost everything: authority, orders, what a soldier owes the man next to him. Mann builds the film around that friction rather than around combat, turning a retreat march into a slow-burning argument about command and conscience.
