About

Synopsis

Big Nothing (2006) is a pitch-black crime comedy you can watch online on iFILM. It's the debut feature of French director Jean-Baptiste Andrea, built around two losers who decide blackmail looks easy.

Charlie Wood (David Schwimmer) has just lost his teaching job and has no money and no prospects. A new acquaintance, Gus (Simon Pegg), pitches a clean little scheme: squeeze cash out of a local preacher sitting on a dirty secret. Josie (Alice Eve) muscles in with designs of her own. The plan is flawless right up until the first body turns up. Then a second. After that everything slides downhill faster than these three can keep up with.

It's the kind of movie where every attempt to cover a mess produces a fresh corpse and a bigger one. Schwimmer and Pegg play off each other beautifully — the panicker against the cocky motormouth — and that chemistry is what keeps this grim farce moving. With Natascha McElhone and Mimi Rogers in the mix. If you go for Coen-flavored stories where amateurs get in way over their heads, this one's for you. Stream Big Nothing (2006) online on iFILM.
