Billu

Billu (2009) is an Indian comedy-drama from director Priyadarshan, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Village barber Billu barely scrapes by — blunt scissors, a chipped comb, and a pile of debts he has no way to clear.

Then movie superstar Sahir Khan rolls into town for a shoot. Word spreads across the village that Billu and the famous man go all the way back to childhood. Suddenly the neighbors treat the barber differently, each one hoping he'll put in a good word with the big-city celebrity. Billu himself, oddly, is in no hurry to remind his old friend that he exists. Irrfan Khan and Shah Rukh Khan take the lead roles.

Priyadarshan reworks a familiar South Indian story into a gentle parable about the dignity of an ordinary man and what friendship is really worth. Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone turn up in the song numbers. It's warm, unpretentious cinema for fans of Indian family dramas with a tear and a clear moral.
