Synopsis
The Diary of Anne Frank (2009), Season 1 is a five-part BBC wartime drama you can watch online on iFILM — a British adaptation of the real diary a thirteen-year-old began keeping in Nazi-occupied Amsterdam in 1942.
Anne gets the notebook for her birthday. Weeks later her family slips into hiding above her father's business, after call-up papers arrive for her sister Margot. Across five episodes the season stays inside that cramped annex over two long years: clashes with her mother, friction with the Van Daan family and the prickly dentist Mr Dussell, a first romance with Peter, and Anne's stubborn dream of becoming a writer. The camera rarely steps outdoors, which makes the danger beyond the walls press harder. It's a coming-of-age told entirely in her own voice.

S1·E1Amsterdam 6th July 1942
Anne is given a diary for her 13th birthday. Anne's parents decide to go into hiding from the Nazi's after call up papers arrive for her sister.
S1·E2October 1942
Anne finds living in the same complex in hiding with the Van Daan family harder and harder. When Mr Dussell comes to live at the complex he soon becomes the butt of all of Anne's jokes.
S1·E3November 1942
Otto finds out that the building everyone is hiding in has been sold. Everyone hopes that the war will be over in a few months as the lease to the building wont be exchanged until then. Mr Dussell misses his fiance.
S1·E4June 1943
As Anne matures she begins to develop feelings towards Peter and flirts with him. After Otto tells her not to get too involved, Anne and Peter end up declaring their love to each other.
S1·E5May 1944
When Anne's family found out the Dutch government want diaries telling of war time experiences Anne is encouraged to submit hers. Determined to be a professional writer, Anne finds herself with no time to spend with Peter. As Anne is writing an entry into her diary, she and her family are suddenly awakened by the sound of intruders downstairs.
