Synopsis
One Crazy Summer (1986) is an American teen comedy you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Savage Steve Holland. John Cusack plays an aspiring cartoonist who skips the college application grind and heads to Nantucket with his friends instead. Once there, he gets tangled up with a singer (Demi Moore) trying to hold on to her family's property against a gang of overbearing developers.
The setup is slight, and Holland knows it — he compensates with cartoonish visual gags, animated interludes that erupt inside the live-action frame, and Curtis Armstrong playing a lovable disaster of a human being. The film runs on the same off-kilter wavelength as Holland's debut Better Off Dead from the year before.
