Synopsis
The Mastermind (2025) is Kelly Reichardt's crime drama, available to watch online on iFILM. Set in a quiet Massachusetts suburb around 1970, it follows J.B. Mooney (Josh O'Connor) — an unemployed family man who recruits two accomplices and walks out of a museum with four paintings in broad daylight.
The theft goes cleanly. What comes after doesn't. Art is harder to hide than cash, the police are methodical, and the plan develops fractures too small to see until they split open. Alana Haim plays Mooney's wife, and her part of the film turns on a quieter question than the crime itself: who exactly is this man she married.
