Madagascar: A Little Wild (Seasons 1–8)

Madagascar: A Little Wild (2020) is a DreamWorks animated series for kids you can watch online on iFILM. Set before the events of the film franchise, it follows Alex, Marty, Melman and Gloria as cubs and youngsters settling into their new home — a rescue habitat at Central Park Zoo in New York City.

None of the four have figured out the rules yet. Each short episode sends them into some small-scale adventure: sneaking past the fence, meeting a new neighbour, navigating their first real argument. The city beyond the zoo glitters on the horizon. They're drawn to it the way kids are drawn to anything they're not quite old enough for.

Fans of the original Madagascar trilogy will enjoy seeing these familiar characters stripped back to basics — clumsy, uncertain and nowhere near as confident as they'll eventually become.
