Synopsis
Endangered Species (2021) is an action survival thriller you can watch online on iFILM, directed by M.J. Bassett and starring Rebecca Romijn, Philip Winchester, and Jerry O'Connell. The film was shot on location in Kenya and runs 101 minutes.
The Halsey family arrives in Kenya for a dream safari — some tension to shake off, some wildlife to photograph, a chance to reconnect. They drive into a wilderness reserve on their own. An enraged rhino flips the vehicle. From that moment the film doesn't slow down: the group is split, injured, without communication, and the bush is doing what the bush does. A leopard, a hyena clan, and a pair of poachers who have their own reasons to keep the area clear of witnesses all arrive in sequence.
Bassett shot in real Kenyan reserves rather than on a backlot, and the landscape does a lot of the work — the threat feels earned because the location is genuine. There's no deep subtext here, just a well-paced thriller that earns its scares through setting and physical jeopardy rather than jump cuts. Stream Endangered Species (2021) online on iFILM.
