Synopsis
Sugar (2024), Season 1 — watch online on iFILM. Eight episodes of Apple TV+ neo-noir starring Colin Farrell as John Sugar, a private detective and old-Hollywood obsessive hired to find Olivia, the missing granddaughter of a legendary film producer.
The deeper Sugar digs, the less the story holds together. There's a body in the trunk of Olivia's car, a family that lies to his face, and his own demons, which he keeps in check with pills and impeccable manners. The case walks him through a Los Angeles that's sun-bleached and rotten underneath, and back into the company of old friends whose secrets cut sharper than they let on. Then, near the finish, the season takes a hard turn and reveals itself to be a very different kind of story than it first appeared — no spoilers here.
