Action Jackson

Action Jackson (1988) is an American action-comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Carl Weathers plays Jericho "Action" Jackson, a Detroit cop with a Harvard law degree and a reputation for excessive force — both entirely justified, depending on who you ask. Craig T. Nelson is the auto industry magnate using hired killers to clear a path to political office.

Jackson has been sidelined by his own department for being too effective. When the bodycount around the magnate starts climbing, a framed charge lands on Jackson's desk instead of an investigation. Sharon Stone and Vanity round out the cast as women who know where the bodies are, metaphorically and otherwise. Director Craig R. Baxley keeps the pace tight and the action physical.

Carl Weathers was best known as Apollo Creed when this came out; Action Jackson was the film meant to launch him as a standalone action star. It works on those terms.
