Synopsis
Borgia (2011) is the historical series about the deadliest family of the Renaissance, free to watch online on iFILM. Rome, the late 1400s: Pope Innocent VIII is dying, and Cardinal Rodrigo Borgia is already counting his steps toward the throne of Saint Peter.
To seize the papal crown, Rodrigo bribes the conclave, brokers alliances and quietly removes his rivals — then, ruling as Alexander VI, plants his children in the power seats of Europe. Cesare strains to trade his cardinal's robes for an army. Lucrezia is married off again and again, spent like currency in someone else's diplomacy. John Doman plays the patriarch as a tired predator; Mark Ryder and Isolda Dychauk carry the children he both adores and exploits. Poison, confession and the bedroom all serve as tools of the same trade here.
The show was created by Tom Fontana, the mind behind the prison drama Oz, and shot across eight countries — which is why this Renaissance feels grimy, physical and stripped of gloss. Three seasons, thirty-eight episodes. Less a costume fairy tale about pretty schemers than a cold study of how faith turns into a business. Stream every season of Borgia online on iFILM.
