Inspector Rex (Seasons 1–10)

Inspector Rex (Kommissar Rex, 1994) is an Austrian crime series you can watch online on iFILM — all seasons. The lead investigator is a German Shepherd named Rex, officially attached to the Vienna homicide unit, and he does not merely assist: he runs point.

Rex partners with Detective Richard Moser, played by Tobias Moretti. The dog tracks scents through urban crowds, corners armed suspects without making a sound, and steps in front of a weapon when a human partner can't get there in time. Off duty he steals lunches, chases footballs, and regards the resulting accusations with blank canine innocence. Gedeon Burkhard and Karl Markovics appear in supporting roles.

The series launched in 1994 as a joint Austrian-German-Italian production, shooting across Vienna and later Rome, with multiple director rotations over its run — Oliver Hirschbiegel, who later made Downfall, directed several episodes.
