Synopsis
seaQuest DSV (1993–1996) is a sci-fi series you can watch online on iFILM. It's the mid-21st century, and humanity has colonized the ocean floor, bringing factories, colonies and, inevitably, crime down with it.
To police the deep, the United Earth Oceans Organization fields its flagship: the experimental submarine seaQuest. Captain Nathan Bridger (Roy Scheider) runs the boat, backed by teen computer prodigy Lucas (Jonathan Brandis) and a talking dolphin named Darwin. From season two the harder-edged Michael Ironside takes the helm. Across three seasons the show works mostly episode by episode — a colony rescue here, first contact there, a military standoff next.
Steven Spielberg and his Amblin company produced it, which bought unusually lavish underwater effects for early-90s television and a family-friendly slant. The first season even closed many episodes with a real oceanographer pointing out which gadgets were genuine science and which were invention.
