Here We Are: Notes for Living on Planet Earth (2020) is a short animated family film you can watch online on iFILM. On the eve of Earth Day, a curious seven-year-old learns how the whole world fits together — oceans and mountains, cities and creatures, people of every shade and language — guided by his parents and a strange exhibit at the Museum of Everything.

Hand-drawn and gentle, adapted from Oliver Jeffers' picture book, the film runs a brief 37 minutes and never lectures. It simply explains: the planet is vast, we're here a short while, and both it and each other are worth looking after. Voiced by Meryl Streep, Chris O'Dowd, Ruth Negga and Jacob Tremblay, and directed by Philip Hunt, it's made to share with a small child — and leaves grown-ups something to sit with too.
