Synopsis
Midnight Runners (청년경찰, 2017) is a South Korean action-comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Two police academy cadets — Ki Joon and Hee Yeol — witness a young woman being knocked out and dragged into a van right in front of them. They call the police. The police are busy. So they go themselves.
109 minutes of foot chases, motorbikes, borrowed vehicles, improvised interrogations, and brawls against opponents who clearly didn't learn their moves from a textbook. Park Seo-joon and Kang Ha-neul play the pair, and their back-and-forth is funnier and more likeable than the premise has any right to produce — two guys running headfirst into danger with no gear and no plan beyond what they half-remembered from last week's lecture.
