The Benny Hill Show Season 3 (1971) — four episodes, watch online on iFILM. By the third year the formula has found its stride: shorter musical interludes, sharper parody, the same troupe working with noticeably more confidence.
The sketch range in Season 3 leans into direct institutional satire. Fred Scuttle turns up as Chief Drama Director and Dialogue Coach, then opens a health farm. Pierre De Tierre is an avant-garde French film director whose films are exactly what you'd expect from that description. Reginald Boozenquet anchors a news broadcast whose credibility is undermined entirely by his name. Nicholas Parsons speaks to schoolchildren; the Dimpton Drinking Club convenes; "Medical Memory Lane" mines British nostalgia for its own purposes.
