Synopsis
Spoonful of Sugar (2022) is an American horror film you can watch online on iFILM, and it belongs to the school where the nanny is scarier than anything under the bed. Millicent, a student writing a thesis on childhood allergies, takes a job minding little Johnny — a sickly, mute boy who reacts to seemingly everything.
His overprotective mother, buried in a book of her own, sees the orphaned student as the perfect hire. She's wrong. Behind the demure front, Milly is someone else entirely: she's quietly experimenting, testing every line she can cross, and slowly drawing both the child and his father into her orbit. The deeper she digs into the household's secrets, the harder it gets to tell predator from prey. A quiet country house turns into a cage.
Director Mercedes Bryce Morgan shoots it in lurid, near-acid color, letting the dread build by inches rather than jolts. Morgan Saylor anchors the whole thing on one ambiguous smile.
