Synopsis
"Moonage Daydream" (2022), directed by Brett Morgen, is the authorized David Bowie documentary — watch online on iFILM. Morgen spent years in the Bowie estate's private archive, pulling together concert footage, studio recordings, and interviews that had never been released. No narrator. No talking heads.
Instead the film mirrors Bowie himself: it shifts moods, rejects linear biography, and lets the music carry the argument. Ziggy Stardust gives way to the Thin White Duke, then the Berlin years, then the stadium tours of the 1980s — each phase shown through its own visual logic, with Lou Reed, Tina Turner, and guitarist Mick Ronson appearing in archival form.
For longtime fans, the unreleased footage alone is worth the 140 minutes. For newcomers, it's a surprisingly useful entry point — not a Wikipedia summary set to music, but a genuine portrait of an artist who kept refusing to stay the same. Stream "Moonage Daydream" (2022) on iFILM.
