Last Cab to Darwin

Last Cab to Darwin (2015) is an Australian road drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Jeremy Sims. Rex is a solitary cab driver from the outback town of Broken Hill who receives a terminal diagnosis with no comfortable options. Rather than spend what is left in a hospital ward, he aims his cab north toward Darwin — nearly four thousand kilometres across scorched, barely populated terrain.

The screenplay by Reg Cribb adapts his own stage play, which drew from a real story. Michael Caton plays Rex without a trace of sentimentality: weathered, ornery and genuinely funny when the film calls for it. Jackie Weaver and Ningali Lawford join him on the road.
