Then a bearded stranger arrives calling himself Moses — a man who looks remarkably like their old tyrannical manager Vladimir. He's decided to lead the Cowboys back to their home village. Kaurismäki shot the film with real musicians: the Leningrad Cowboys were an actual Finnish novelty act, and the director himself turns up in a small role.
