Synopsis
Gate II (1990) is a Canadian horror-fantasy you can watch online on iFILM. Five years after the hole to the demon world first opened, teenager Terry (Louis Tripp) is on his own — his friend has moved away, his mother is dead, and his out-of-work father has crawled into a bottle.
Desperate, Terry sneaks back into the abandoned house and reopens the pit, this time to bargain a single wish out of whatever crawls up. Then three strangers break in, someone puts a bullet in the little demon, and the ritual slips its leash. The wish comes true, but rotten at the core, the price keeps climbing, and the thing from below has no intention of going quietly. Director Tibor Takács, back from the first film, leans again on hand-built animatronics instead of digital tricks — half the fun for anyone who collects late-'80s practical effects.
The sequel is smaller than the original and a good deal grimmer, trading kid-movie wonder for a story about a wish turning into a trap. It plays best for fans hunting down low-budget horror from the turn of the decade. Stream Gate II (1990) online on iFILM.
