Synopsis
Island of Fire (1990) is a Taiwanese crime-action thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Officer Wong Wei arrives to find his uncle, a senior cop, murdered, and the evidence only muddies the case instead of cracking it.
To reach the killer, Wong gets himself locked up — the idea is to earn the inmates' trust from the inside. It falls apart fast. He's framed for a guard's death, sentenced to die, and then a man named Tien offers him a way out. The prison isn't what it seems: behind its walls, convicts' deaths are staged so they can be reused as disposable hitmen.
The real draw here is the lineup. Andy Lau, Tony Leung Ka-Fai, Sammo Hung and Jackie Chan share the screen, with veteran Jimmy Wang Yu in the mix. Director Chu Yen-Ping runs the plot at comic-book speed, barely pausing between brawls. It's for fans of late-'80s Hong Kong and Taiwanese action — rough, bloody and stacked with stars.
