Devils' Line (Season 1)

Devils' Line (2018) is a Japanese anime series you can watch online on iFILM. The setup: vampires — called devils — have been living among ordinary people in Tokyo for a long time, passing as human until hunger or rage breaks through the surface. The government has no official record of their existence, but a covert police unit handles the cases that fall through the cracks.

Yuuki Anzai is half-devil, half-human, and works for that unit by holding his own nature on an extremely short leash. When he pulls college student Tsukasa Taira out of a dangerous situation, something shifts between them — and that shift is exactly what makes things dangerous for Anzai. The series leans into that tension deliberately: the criminal investigation thread runs alongside the romantic one, and the show is better at balancing both than you might expect from a genre that usually picks one and forgets the other.
