RMonty Python Live (Mostly)
One down, five to go
Synopsis
Monty Python Live (Mostly) (2014) is the filmed record of the group's final reunion show, available to watch online on iFILM. On 20 July 2014, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin took the O2 Arena stage in London — their first joint appearance in decades.
The two-hour-plus show ran through the Dead Parrot, the Spanish Inquisition, the Ministry of Silly Walks, and "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life," this time backed by a full orchestra and a chorus line. Eddie Izzard and Mike Myers dropped in; Stephen Hawking sent a video cameo. The tour ran for ten nights under the tagline "One Down, Five to Go" — a nod to Graham Chapman, dead since 1989 — and this last night was the one they filmed.
For anyone who knows Holy Grail or Life of Brian by heart, it is exactly the send-off you would want. Directed by Idle and Aubrey Powell. Stream Monty Python Live (Mostly) online on iFILM.
