Synopsis
A Case of You (2013) — watch online on iFILM, a romantic comedy directed by Kat Coiro with Justin Long, Evan Rachel Wood, and Sam Rockwell. Sam is a writer with a crush on Birdie, the barista at his local coffee shop. Too awkward to make a move in person, he reverse-engineers her social-media profile.
Guitar lessons, vegan cooking, crash-course surfing — he builds himself into every interest she's ever liked. The plan works, which immediately creates a bigger problem: Birdie has fallen for a character Sam invented, not the actual Sam. Peter Dinklage, Vince Vaughn, and Brendan Fraser each turn up in supporting roles, and each of them lands something memorable in limited screen time.
The film doesn't overcomplicate its premise. It makes one reasonably honest observation — that online self-curation eventually runs into the person doing the curating — and keeps things light on the way there. Stream A Case of You (2013) online on iFILM.
