Passages

Passages (2023) is a French drama from director Ira Sachs that you can watch online on iFILM, starring Franz Rogowski, Ben Whishaw, and Adèle Exarchopoulos. Sachs — an American filmmaker based in Paris for years — built an intimate, quietly devastating portrait of a man who cannot commit and won't stop pulling others into his orbit.

Tomas is a director finishing a film when he meets Agathe, a young schoolteacher, at a party. He leaves his husband Martin. Then he drifts back. Then he leaves again. Rogowski plays the role with a restless charm that makes Tomas genuinely hard to look away from, even as he burns through everyone around him. Whishaw and Exarchopoulos are not accessories to his story — both carry real interior weight.
