It opens with a coronation. The old uncle king steps down, the party-loving Prince Julien takes the throne, and ruling turns out to be a lot harder than throwing a good bash. From there each episode hands the king a fresh mess: the one lemur in the kingdom who can't stand him, the evil genius Karl plotting to take him down, a stray bag of coffee beans that gets the whole community wired. Loyal Maurice, tiny Mort, and no-nonsense head of security Clover are stuck cleaning up after every royal scheme.
