About

Synopsis

Pigsty (Porcile, 1969) is Pier Paolo Pasolini's two-headed parable, free to watch online on iFILM. He cut two films into one: no shared characters, no shared century.

One thread sits in post-war Germany, where Julian (Jean-Pierre Léaud), heir to industrialist Klotz, feels nothing for his fiancée Ida (Anne Wiazemsky) and everything for the pigs in his father's yard. The other drops us into a timeless volcanic wasteland, where a mute drifter (Pierre Clémenti) kills, eats human flesh and gathers other outcasts around him. Cannibalism links them — one savage, one quietly bourgeois.

Pasolini aimed the film at German capital and the comfortable men who profited from it; the fathers' appetite turns out scarier than the son's. Ugo Tognazzi and Alberto Lionello fill the boardroom scenes, and the line "I killed my father, I ate human flesh, and I quiver with joy" still echoes through film history. Cold, blunt, deliberately hard to like — best for viewers ready for Pasolini at his most provoking. Stream Pigsty (1969) online on iFILM.
