Synopsis

Fleeing a ghost and an old curse, Úrsula and José Arcadio lead a handful of families across wild country and found the town of Macondo in the middle of the swamps. The season tracks that world coming into being: José Arcadio's obsession with alchemy, an insomnia plague carried in by a strange girl, a first love, a first death. The children grow up, and dreamy young Aureliano hardens into the colonel that political turmoil pushes to lead a revolution. These eight episodes run from the founding of Macondo to the edge of all-out war.
Shot in Spanish in Colombia with the author's heirs involved, the series stays close to the page — yellow flowers raining down, the same family names echoing across generations.
