2048: Nowhere to Run (2017) is a six-minute sci-fi short you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Luke Scott and released by Warner Bros. ahead of Blade Runner 2049, it's the official prequel short set exactly one year before Denis Villeneuve's feature film.
Dave Bautista plays Sapper Morton, a replicant trying to get through each day without drawing attention or resorting to violence. When strangers nearby are threatened, his restraint breaks. The short explains why Sapper is living in isolation on a remote farm by the time the main film begins — and it does that entirely through action, with almost no dialogue.
