Synopsis
The 8 Show (2024), Season 1 is the Korean satirical thriller you can watch online on iFILM — eight episodes set inside an eight-story building where time is, quite literally, money.
A man drowning in debt signs up for a show he knows nothing about, then works out the rules alongside seven other strangers. The premise is simple and that is what makes it nasty: the longer the game runs, the more cash piles up. But your floor decides everything. The upper levels earn many times more per minute than the lower ones, and the season slowly turns idle waiting into bargaining, alliances, blackmail and open violence. Each new "entertainment" exposes a little more of who these people really are.
Director Han Jae-rim adapts Bae Jin-soo's webcomic into a sharp parable about class — sometimes funny, sometimes genuinely savage. Fans of Squid Game will recognize the shape, though the irony here cuts harder. Stream The 8 Show Season 1 online on iFILM.
