Synopsis

Eden (2014) is Mia Hansen-Løve's drama about the rise of French house, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Early-nineties Paris: a teenager named Paul and his friends start a DJ duo and dive into the city's club nights.

Paul falls hard for the garage sound — the French touch about to take over dance floors everywhere. Then two decades slip past like one long set: the rush of the night, romances, cocaine, mounting debt, and the slow realization that the scene has moved on without him. Off to the side, two guys in helmets nobody calls Daft Punk yet keep drifting through the story.

Hansen-Løve based this semi-fictional chronicle on her brother Sven, a DJ from that exact wave. No biopic triumph, no climb to stardom — just a dream that stretches across ten years and quietly burns out. Greta Gerwig, Vincent Lacoste and Félix de Givry carry the film's calm, melancholy pulse.
