Synopsis
Why Do Fools Fall In Love (1998) is a biographical drama you can watch online on iFILM. It's the mid-1980s. Three women — each with a lawyer — arrive at a New York music executive's office. All three claim to be the widow of Frankie Lymon. All three want years of unpaid royalties.
Lymon was a real person: a Harlem teenager who recorded "Why Do Fools Fall In Love" and became a doo-wop star at thirteen, then died of a heroin overdose at twenty-five. Director Gregory Nava structures the film as a courtroom hearing and three intercut flashbacks — Halle Berry, Vivica A. Fox, and Lela Rochon each presenting their version of who Lymon (Larenz Tate) was and what he meant to them. Little Richard appears in a supporting role.
Each woman is convincing. That's the point. Stream Why Do Fools Fall In Love (1998) online on iFILM.
