Synopsis
Crossroads (1986) is Walter Hill's blues-soaked drama, and you can watch online on iFILM. A classically trained guitar kid named Eugene is obsessed with one lost Robert Johnson song — so he springs an old harmonica player out of a Harlem hospital to go find it.
The old man is Willie Brown, who once backed Johnson himself. Eugene (Ralph Macchio) talks him into a road trip down to a Mississippi crossroads, the spot where legend says players trade their souls for talent. The journey south tests both of them, and a runaway named Frannie (Jami Gertz) falls in with the pair along the way. It all builds to a guitar duel against the devil's own hired gun.
Ry Cooder wrote the score, and the showdown licks were played by a young Steve Vai — which is why guitarists have quoted this movie for decades. The blues here isn't background; it drives every scene. Stream Crossroads (1986) online on iFILM if you love rock and roll and a good story on the open road.
