Synopsis

Moses runs a tiny religious commune: a congregation of four, sermons that wander toward the unhinged, a couple of horses, and rent he can't pay. With eviction looming over his family, a generous backer appears out of nowhere. Moses takes the money without a second thought, never guessing the cash traces back to an FBI agent who needs an "extremist" to book. The more ridiculous the commune's revolutionary plans grow, the happier the bureau gets. Marchánt Davis carries the lead, with Anna Kendrick as the agent whose conscience kicks in far too late.
Morris, the mind behind Four Lions, builds a cruel, exact send-up of how security services manufacture the very criminals they then arrest. The subtitle says it plainly: a comedy based on a hundred true stories. The laughs sit right next to genuine dread here. One for fans of sharp political satire.
