Synopsis
Violent Cop (その男、凶暴につき, 1989) is the directorial debut of Takeshi Kitano — watch it online on iFILM. Kitano also stars as Detective Azuma, a man who operates somewhere well outside the law he nominally serves. His idea of questioning a suspect involves boots, not words.
Azuma picks up a murder case that threads through Yakuza territory and points uncomfortably at someone on his own force. The deeper he goes, the less he can protect the people around him — including his dependent sister. What starts as a gritty cop procedural shifts into something colder and harder to look away from.
