Minotaur (2006) is a dark fantasy-horror from director Jonathan English you can watch online on iFILM. In an Iron Age village bound by an old debt, the strongest young men and women are taken every few years to an island and fed to a beast that lives beneath the palace.

Theo, played by a young Tom Hardy, refuses to believe his girl was killed by the creature. He's sure she's alive, held somewhere in the maze as a slave. So he volunteers for the next group of sacrifices, descends into the dark, and loses himself in endless stone corridors where something half-man, half-bull breathes in the black. Watching over the ritual are Rutger Hauer as the island's cold ruler and Tony Todd, the face of Candyman, as a menacing priest.

This isn't a sword-and-sandal epic about Greek heroes; it's a cramped underground horror of mud, torchlight and claustrophobia, with the monster mostly kept in shadow. Its real draw is catching Hardy in an early role before the fame. Stream Minotaur (2006) online on iFILM.
