Hangman

Hangman (2015) is Adam Mason's found-footage thriller, ready to watch online on iFILM. Back from vacation, the Miller family find signs of a break-in and simply change the locks.

Changing them does nothing. The intruder never left — he is living in their attic, filming the household through hidden cameras. The whole film plays from his vantage: breakfasts, arguments, kids' rooms, the dark hours. The calmer the Millers act, the worse the viewer's knowledge bites, because they are watched around the clock and have no idea. Jeremy Sisto and Kate Ashfield play the parents, with Ty and Ryan Simpkins as the children.

Mason builds dread from one ugly premise rather than jump scares: the stranger is already inside, and you do not know it. At a lean 84 minutes it keeps moving, which found footage often fails to do.
