Synopsis
What Jennifer Did (2024) is a true-crime documentary you can watch online on iFILM. Late one night in a quiet suburb outside Toronto, a young woman dials 911, sobbing that intruders broke in and shot her parents.
Investigators play that call back over and over. Her account doesn't square with what the forensics team finds at the scene: bound but unharmed, she seems to have known how the night would end. The film tracks the interrogations hour by hour, watching detectives chip away at Jennifer Pan's story until the picture of a random break-in stops holding together. What first read as the tragedy of an innocent survivor curdles into something far colder.
Director Jenny Popplewell builds nearly the whole film out of genuine police interview tapes and surveillance footage, letting the record speak instead of leaning on narration. If you get pulled into Netflix-style breakdowns of real cases, this one keeps its grip to the final minute. Stream What Jennifer Did (2024) online on iFILM.
