Synopsis
Lucie Aubrac (1997) is a French wartime drama you can watch online on iFILM. Director Claude Berri adapted it from the memoir of the real Lucie Aubrac, one of the best-known figures of the Lyon Resistance network. Carole Bouquet plays Lucie; Daniel Auteuil is her husband Raymond.
Lyon, 1943. Raymond is caught in a Gestapo sweep during a clandestine Resistance gathering. The evidence is solid, the sentence — a firing squad. Lucie's only leverage is her pregnancy, which she uses face-to-face with a Nazi official. What follows is a series of calculated risks, each harder to walk back than the last.
Berri keeps the film close and personal — no battle sequences, just one woman working every angle available to her. Bouquet brings a controlled intensity that makes the quieter scenes land harder than any action. Stream Lucie Aubrac online on iFILM.
