Synopsis
We're All Going to the World's Fair (2022) is a psychological horror film by Jane Schoenbrun you can watch online on iFILM. Alone in her attic bedroom, teenager Casey signs up for a viral online horror game called World's Fair.
The challenge claims it will slowly reshape the body and mind of anyone who recites its words into a webcam. Casey films clip after clip, documenting the odd changes she thinks she sees, and strikes up an uneasy online bond with an anonymous older man known only as JLB. Where the role-play ends and a real unraveling begins is something the film keeps deliberately murky.
Schoenbrun's debut feature grows out of creepypasta and late-night livestream aesthetics into a quiet study of loneliness and growing up online. It premiered at Sundance and marked the director as a fresh voice in indie horror. Anna Cobb carries nearly every frame on her own. This is a slow, dread-soaked mood piece rather than a jump-scare ride — and that is exactly where its power lies.
